Friday Day B - My Last Day!

WELL!

I am sad to say that today is my last day at Tom Baines. I hope to come back either subbing soon or in some NOT too far off future. I put all I had into making this a great year and it is tough that it is already over. I have learned a lot from this experience and am filled with gratitude.

If you are reading this blog, you are likely one of the great contributors to an awesome learning community at Tom Baines and I thank you for the support and energy. THANK YOU!

Here is today's plan:

Science 6-4: Since it is my last day, we will finish the day by looking at a cool documentary about engineering.

Science 7-13: We will review the unit test, then review everything we have learnt about heat through an episode of One Strange Rock.

SMath 6-6: See above.

Life Skills 8-31: Last class of the day before spring break! We will watch a short doc about engineering design, while also having our last free day Friday.

Stay healthy my friends,

Mr.Moir

My class was vandalized! I feel very special though!

The Week Ahead

Hello Friends!

This coming week will be my last week teaching at Tom Baines. I have been covering a mat leave and will hopefully be subbing on a future school day soon. Here is what next week will look like:

Gr.6 Math - This week, we will be revisiting our first unit of the year, Patterns and Expressions. Each day will logically build off the next to give a fuller picture of the unit.

Gr.6 Science - We will have our Air and Aerodynamics Unit Test on Wednesday. Before that, we will need to review everything and also highlight some key points. After the unit test, we will move onto flight.

Gr.7 Math - This week, we are moving onto Algebra in the form of Patterns and Expressions. This will involve mainly a review of last year's material since spring break will likely cause some memory loss.

Gr.7 Science - We will have our Heat and Temperature Unit Test on Thursday. This week will involve a fair amount of studying through students' Make Your Own assignment.

Gr.8 Life Skills - This week, I want to my last week to be a send off with important life lessons. The most efficient way I can think of to do this is to watch the movie Up! There are so many great lessons to learn from this and I think the students could enjoy a break from worksheets and being awkward (Human Sexuality is over now)...

Stay healthy my friends,

Mr.Moir
