I hope everyone had a great weekend and had too much candy!
Here is a summary of the week to follow:
Gr. 6 Math - Students will be creating their own questionnaire that will take us through each part of our unit on Data Analysis. They will design a question, survey their class, make graphs, and analyze the results.
Gr. 6 Science - This week will be all about Tree Cookies. We will have a lab were students will analyze tree cookies to learn about the life of a tree. On Friday, we will have a quiz to check in on what we have learnt so far in this unit.
Gr. 7 Math - This week's focus will be all about Probability. I will do some magic, run a mini-casino game, and a few other things to help students see how useful probability can be.
Gr. 7 Science - I thought I would've gotten to our Owl Pellet lab last week, but I figured costumes might get in the way. The week will start by reviewing our research in Succession and will eventually move onto the lab, then a quiz Friday to check on understandings.
Gr. 8 Life Skills - This week's focus will be on peer pressure. Having the students do their own research and pick relevant topics to them has been fun, so why stop now? Students will look back through history and present on fads that have been good or bad on society. I am curious how this will turn out!
